Letztens kam eine Sendung im TV über die Meyerwerft in Papenburg. Dort wird ja „unser“ Schiff gebaut, mit dem wir Ende Oktober über den großen Teich schippern werden, um unsere Reise in den USA fortzusetzen. Wir werden mit der „Anthem of the Seas“ von Southampton über die Karibik und die Bahamas nach Fort Lauderdale fahren. So kommt die Seele zeitnah mit und außerdem auch noch sehr luxuriös. Nach 3 Monaten im VW-Bus auf Campingplätzen kommt das wahrscheinlich ziemlich gut  🙂

At the end of October we’ll cross the Atlantic from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale via the Caribbean and the Bahamas. That will be a great and very luxurious cruise – and a nice treat after living in a small camper for three months. The ship will be the „Anthem of the Seas“, which was build in Germany recently on the Meyerwerft in Papenburg. 

Click on the first link above and you’ll find the press information about the passage through the Ems, a river which is just a few centimeters wider than the ship. It’s always fascinating that their ships reach the North Sea without a single scratch.
